How to make the Medicine

Hi everyone :)

George takes an enormous stewing pot out of the cupboard and places it on the kitchen table. He is going to put in everything he could find. Whatever he sees, if it is runny or powdery or gooey, in it goes.

He goes first to the bathroom. There are always lots of funny things in a bathroom. So upstairs he goes, carrying the enormous two-handled pot before him. When he arrives at the bathroom, he begins to put various kinds of things such as shampoo, shaving soap and face cream into the pot. Then he goes to the bedroom and sees his mother's dressing table. He puts hair set, perfume and lipstick into it. When the bedroom has nothing more to offer, George carries the enormous pot downstairs and trots into the laundry room. He also begins to put many kinds of household items including cleaner and floor polish.

The Marvelous Plan

Hi everyone :)

One day, George's parents go out and George is alone in the house with Grandma. Grandma starts to talk about a great many secrets, for example, some of us have magic powers that can twist the creatures of this earth into wondrous shapes.... George is very frightened by her stories and runs into the kitchen.

George sits himself at the table in the kitchen. He is shaking a little. He really hates that horrid old witchy woman. He says to himself that he is not going to be frightened by Grandma. But he is frightened. And that's why he wants suddenly to explode her away.

He starts to ponder some interesting ideas, for instance, he would like to put six big black rats in the room with Grandma and lock the door. But, his eyes fall upon the bottle of Grandma's brown medicine standing on the sideboard. The medicine is that he has to give Grandma at eleven o'clock. Suddenly, he comes up with a marvelous plan. The plan is that he makes her a new and magic medicine, a medicine no doctor in the world has ever made before!!!

George's Marvelous Medicine

Hi everyone :)

I am so sorry for the late blog post :'( During my summer vacation, I read George's Marvelous Medicine by Roald Dahl. I have read some of his books including Matilda, The Witches and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Roald Dahl is my favorite writer, so I chose this book.

George is a eight-year-old boy. He is very bored everyday because he does not have a brother or a sister. His father is a farmer, and the farm they live on is miles away from anywhere, so there are never any children to play with. He is tired of staring at pigs, hens, cows and sheep. Besides, George could not help disliking Grandma. She is a selfish grumpy old woman. Most grandmothers are lovely, kind, helpful old ladies, but not this one. She spends all day and everyday sitting in her chair by the window, and she is always complaining, grousing, grouching, grumbling, griping about something or other. She does not seem to care about other people, only about herself. She is a miserable woman.

The Man with Two Faces

Hi everyone :) I have two exams today. These exams are the last ones before summer vacation, so I will do my best!!

Harry, Ron and Hermione encountered a heavy, wooden locked door in a room full of small, jewel bright  birds. Harry noticed that they were not birds but winged keys. Harry got a broomsticks to catch the right key and unlocked the door. The next chamber was so dark they could not see anything at all. But as they stepped into it, light suddenly flooded the room to reveal an astonishing sight. They were standing on the edge of a huge chessboard. Ron said to Harry and Hermione that they had got to play their way across the room. Ron masterfully leaded them through the game, but he had to allow himself to be taken. Ron stepped forward and the white queen pounced. She struck Ron hard around the head with her stone arm and he crashed to the floor. Hermione screamed but stayed on her square. Shaking, Harry moved three spaces to the left. The white king took off his crown and threw it at Harry's feet. They had won.

They had reached another door. Harry pushed it open. Although they came upon a series of potions and a logic puzzle, Hermione figured out which to drink. Harry told Hermione to go back through the purple flames to help Ron, and He picked up the smallest bottle and went through the black flames. For a moment he could see nothing but dark fire - then he was on the other side, in the last chamber. There was already someone there - but it was not Snape. It was not even Voldemort.

It was Quirrell. He smiled. His face was not twitching at all. Quirrell told Harry that Snape tried to save Harry and Quirrell tried to kill him. Quirrell added that he needed to examine the interesting mirror. It was only then that Harry realized what was standing behind Quirrell. It was the Mirror of Erised. Quirrell told Harry to look in the Mirror and tell him what Harry saw. Harry closed his eyes , stepped in front of the Mirror and opened them again. Harry saw his reflection, pale and scared-looking at first. But a moment later, the reflections smiled at him. It put its hand into its pocket and pulled out a blood-red stone. It winked and put the Stone back in its pocket - and as it did so, Harry felt something heavy drop into his real pocket. Somehow- incredibly - he had got the Stone.

Quirrell asked Harry again, but Harry told a lie that he saw himself shaking hands with Dumbledore. Voldemort told Quirrell that Harry was lying and wanted to speak directly to Harry, so Quirrell unwrapped his turban. Harry was shocked to see Voldemort's face on the back of Quirrell's head. Voldemort knew that the Stone was in Harry's pocket, so he tried to persuade Harry to give him it. He added that joining him was better than meeting the same end as Harry's parents. However, Harry refused, so Voldemort ordered Quirrell to seize Harry. Quirrell tried, but when he touched Harry, his hands blistered. Harry grabbed Quirrell and put him in tremendous pain; meanwhile the pain in Harry’s head was building. As the struggle intensified, Harry felt himself losing hold of Quirrell and falling.

When I went to see the movie, I was still six years old, so this scene scared me the best…

Through the Trapdoor

Hi everyone :) I have had a cold since last Friday. I have a stomachache, a runny nose and a sore throat.
I feel terrible…

In years to come, Harry would never quite remember how he had managed to get through his exams when he half expected Voldemort to come bursting through the door at any moment. Yet the days crept by and there could be no doubt that Fluffy was still alive and well behind the locked door. Harry finished his exams, however, he could not shake off a lurking feeling that there was something he had forgotten to do, something important. Harry suddenly jumped to his feet and went to see Hagrid with Ron and Hermione. Harry asked Hagrid something and found out that Hagrid told the stranger how to get past Fluffy and it was either Snape or Voldemort under that clock - it must have been easy, once he had got Hagrid drunk.

Harry, Ron and Hermione rushed to find Dumbledore to tell him this news, but they were stopped by Professor McGonagell, who informed them that Dumbledore received an urgent owl from the Ministry of Magic and flew off for London ten minutes ago. Harry decided to go out of here tonight and try and get to the Stone first. Hermione objected to Harry's idea, but by Harry's persuasion, She and Ron decided to go with Harry. As they were headed out, Neville tried to stop them. Hermione immobilized him with a spell, and they stepped over him and pulled on the Invisibility Cloak.

When they reached Fluffy, Harry, Hermione and Ron noticed a harp and realized that someone had already passed by Fluffy. Harry played a Hagrid flute which he had brought to make Fluffy sleep. They managed to go through the trapdoor and landed on sort of plant thing. Suddenly, the plant had started to twist snake-like tendrils around their ankles. Hermione had managed to free herself before the plant got a firm grip on her. Now she watched in horror as the two boys fought to pull the plant off them, but the more they strained against it, the tighter and faster the plant wound around them. So Hermione whipped out her wand, waved it, muttered something and sent a jet of the same bluebell flames she had used on Snape at the plant. Then Harry and Ron were able to pull free.

Hermione is a really smart girl!!! I wanna be a person like her;))

The Forbidden Forest

Hi everyone :) Last week, I went to see the movie "Noah" with my friend. Russell Crowe, Emma Watson, Logan Lerman appeared on the screen. They are my favorite actors and actress. The movie was a bit complicated story, but I thought it was great! Did you see it?:)

Filch took Harry and Hermione down to Professor McGonagall's study on the first floor, where they sat and waited without saying a ward to each other. Hermione was trembling. When Professor McGonagell appeared, she was leading Neville who was trying to warn Harry that Malfoy was going to catch him. Professor MacGonagell never believed about the dragon story, but she decided to take fifty point each from Gryffindor as the punishment. A hundred and fifty points lost. That put Gryffindor in last place. In one night, they had ruined any chance Gryffindor had had for the House Cup. Harry felts as though the bottom had dropped out of his stomach. Next day, the bad news spread. From being one of the most popular and admired people at the school, Harry was suddenly the most hated. Only Ron stood by him. Hermione and Neville were suffering, too. They did not have as bad as Harry, because they were not as well known, but nobody would speak to them either.

One morning, notes were delivered to Harry, Hermione and Neville at the breakfast table. The note was written that their detention would take place at eleven o'clock tonight. At eleven o'clock that night Harry and Hermione said goodbye to Ron in the common room and went down to the entrance hall with Neville. Filch already there - and so was Malfoy. Harry had also forgotten that Malfoy had got a detention, too. They marched off across the dark grounds. When they finally arrived at Hagrid's hut, they were surprised to find that their detention would be held in the Forbidden Forest.

Hagrid led them to the very edge of the Forest. Then he pointed to some traces of unicorn blood on the ground and explained hat they would go into the Forest to find out what had been hurting the unicorns. Hagrid said that Harry, Hermione and he would go one way and Draco, Neville and Hagrid's dog, Fang would go the other. He added that if any of them find the unicorn, they will send up green sparks - and if anyone gets in trouble, send up red sparks. Then, they entered the Forest. The Forest was black and silent. Harry, Hermione and Hagrid walked on through the dense, dark tress, but they saw red sparks that the other group was in trouble. Hagrid told Harry and Hermione to wait here and rushed to Malfoy, Neville and Fang. After a while, Hagrid returned with them, but he was fuming. Malfoy, it seemed, had sneaked up behind Neville and grabbed him for a joke. Neville had panicked sent up the sparks. Hagrid changed the groups - Neville stayed with Hermione and Hagrid, Harry went with Fang and the idiot, Malfoy.

So Harry set off into the heart of the Forest with Malfoy and Fang. They walked for nearly half an hour, deeper, deeper into the Forest, until the path became almost impossible to follow because the trees were so thick. Suddenly, they came across a hooded figure drinking the blood of the dead unicorn. Malfoy let out a terrible scream and bolted - so did Fang. The hooded figure raised its head and looked right at Harry. It got to its feet and came swiftly towards him - he could not move for fear. Then a pain pierced his head like he had never felt before. The pain in Harry's head was so bad he fell to his knees. It took a minute or two to pass. When he looked up, the figure had gone. A centaur called Firenze was standing over him.  Firenze rescued Harry and carried him back to Hagrid. On his way back, Harry noticed that the hooded figure was Voldemort and that he was drinking unicorn blood to sustain himself until he could obtain the Philosopher's Stone - the Elixir of Life.

I was surprised because Ron did not go to the Forbidden Forest and instead of him, Neville went there in the book! It was one of the differences between the book and the movie. And, this scene is one of my scariest scenes. The hooded figure is so horrible…

Norbert the Norwegian Ridgeback

Hi everyone :) Recently, the movie "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" was on the air, so I watched it after a long time! I think the movie is the most interesting of all series. What do you think?:)

Hermione, however, had more on her mind than the Philosopher's Stone. She had started drawing up revision timetable and colour-coding all her notes for the exams. The teachers piled so much homework on them that Easter holidays were not nearly as much faun as the Christmas ones. Harry and Ron spent most of their free time in the library with Hermione, trying to get through all their extra work. One day, Hagrid came upon them studying in the library. They bombarded him with questions about the Philosopher's Stone. Hagrid invited them to come and talk to him later, but said he did not promise that he would reveal anything.

Harry, Ron and Hermione visited Hagrid’s hut later, and Hagrid told them that he did not know what else was guarding the stone besides the three-headed dog, Fluffy. However, he told them that he and Dumbledore only knew how to get past Fluffy. Harry noticed him glance at the fire. In the very heart of the fire, underneath the kettle, was a huge, black egg. Then Hagrid showed them the dragon egg that he won in a game of cards last night. Dragons were illegal, but Hagrid wished to raise one anyway. One breakfast time, Harry got a note saying that the dragon egg was hatching, so Harry, Ron and Hermione ran down to Hagrid’s to watch the dragon’s birth. They all drew their chairs up to the table and watched with bated breath. All at once there was a scraping noise and the egg spilt open. The baby dragon flopped on to the table. It was not exactly pretty. Harry thought it looked like a crumpled, black umbrella. Suddenly Hagrid's colour drained from his face because someone was looking through the gap in the curtains. Harry bolted to the door and looked out. Even at a distance there was no mistaking hum. Malfoy had seen the dragon.

Something about the smile lurking in Malfoy's face during the next week made Harry, Ron and Hermione very nervous. They spent most of their free time in Hagrid's darkened hut, trying to reason with him about letting the dragon go. However Hagrid called him Norbert and lost his marbles. They decided to send an owl to Charlie, Ron's older brother who was studying dragons, to ask him to take care of Norbert and put him back in the wind. Charlie agreed to help them and arranged for them to meet some friends of him to take Norbert away. He asked them to get Norbert up the tallest tower at midnight on Saturday. Harry and Hermione put on the Invisibility Cloak and sneaked up carrying Norbert. On the way to the top of the tower, they saw Professor McGonagall catch Malfoy because he was wandering in the middle of the night to wait Harry. Harry and Hermione arrived the top of the tower safety. About ten minutes later, Charlie's friends came and took him away. As they descended from the tower, they forget to wear the invisibility cloak and Filch caught them.

… what's gonna happen? Do you remember?? I will update next article soon:D
