Sophie talks to Hats

Hi everyone :)

After Mr. Hatter’s funeral, Fanny, three sisters’ mother, starts to explain the situation to the girls that they do not have enough money and the girls all have to leave the school. Fanny also tells them that she has arranged for Lettie to be apprenticed to Cesari’s, the pastry cook in Market Square and Martha to be apprenticed to a witch named Annabel Fairfax. And, Fanny has decided to take Sophie on as apprentice herself, to give Sophie a chance to learn the trade. 

When Sophie makes hats, she talks to them. She hears rumors that the King has argued with his brother named Price Justin, who has disappeared. On the May Day, she decides to go out to see Lettie. Then, Sophie notices that Lettie is not actually Lettie and she is Martha!
